Description
Nestled in Palomar, Villa Rica, La Chacra D’Dago is the first and only independently owned farm in Peru certified as biodynamic (Demeter).
Here, Cesar Marin, part of the third generation of coffee producers in his family, continues a legacy of passion and innovation that began with his grandfather and evolved under his father’s vision for organic and sustainable farming.
Since 2005, the farm has gone beyond organic, embracing biodynamics — an approach that treats the land as a living organism in balance.
Animals, composting, and natural cycles work together to nourish the soil, creating a self-sustaining ecosystem free from synthetic fertilizers.
Every stage of production, from harvesting to fermentation and drying, takes place on-site, ensuring full traceability and consistent quality.
At La Chacra D’Dago, art and science merge — the farm’s colorful fermentation tanks, painted by Cesar’s brother Eduardo, symbolize a constant quest for excellence and innovation.
Cesar is also a founding member of the Slow Food Coffee Coalition and leader of the Villa Rica Sustainable Coffee Community, which brings together local producers, roasters, and environmentalists to spread awareness about good, clean, and fair coffee.
In the cup, Peru La Chacra D’Dago Specialty Coffee reveals a smooth and well-balanced profile, with notes of ripe fruit, cocoa, and honey, and a sweet, lingering finish that captures the essence of its biodynamic origin.
